In 2016, Warm Audio presented a static microphone reproduction at FET in style 87 that made a lot of talk about him and his price. At US$599, with the look and authentic vintage sound characteristic of the microphone, Warm Audio launched a paved in the pond and offered an affordable alternative for the very first time. In other words, the production of WA-87 changed the perception of the industry of what could be achieved at an affordable price.

Based on the classic circuits of the 1960s, the characteristic and rich sound of the WA-87 became the favourite of many sound engineers, producers and home-studists all over the world. First micro developed and manufactured by Warm Audio, it was a remarkable success and was followed by the production of other revolutionary models.

It is also this suite of success and evolution of the brand's standards that triggered the development of a second version of the WA-87 microphone, soberly named WA-87 R2. The teams of Warm Audio used their experience of reproduction of legendary and vintage microphones to bring it closer to the sound, character and performance of the classic '87 original of the 1960s. The result is a larger, more ambitious, simply better microphone!
