The SSL Revival 4000 is a high performance analog console strip which brings back to life the mythical sound of legendary consoles SSL 4000 B and E Series. A true sound heritage of the 1980s, it restores the warmth, precision and punch that shaped the recordings of artists such as Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Prince, U2, Metallica and Pink Floyd. Thanks to its true design to the original circuits, the Revival 4000 embodies the very essence of DNA SSL, finally available in modern rack format.
The Revival 4000 integrates a jensen JT-115K-E transformer microphone preamp, providing incomparable clarity and richness of sound, as well as De-Esser from the 4000B series ideal for controlling whistles and aggressive frequencies. Its dynamic section 4000E, including compressor, gate and expanse, faithfully reproduces the character and musicality that have marked decades of production. Users can also benefit from precise settings such as soft/hard knee, quick attack and different release curves for total control over the signal.
The SSL Revival 4000 is completed by the famous equalizer 4 bands SSL, available in two legendary variants: Brown Knob 02 and Black Knob 242. It also proposes high pass and low pass filters, 1 symmetrical insert point, an external sidechain input and a flexible routing to adapt to the needs of demanding sound engineers and producers.
