The PDI-200 is a 2-channel passive direct injection box. It converts high level Z signal to low level Z signal.

You don't need a battery or phantom power for this direct box. This is suitable for a variety of applications ranging from keyboard and electric or acoustic guitar signals to all types of instrument signals that you might have to plug into multi-pair cables.
