RME M-32 DA Pro II – The reference 32-channel digital-to-analog converter for professional audio infrastructures

The RME M-32 DA Pro II represents the next generation of high-end digital-to-analog converters developed by RME to meet the demanding requirements of professional studios, broadcast facilities, sound reinforcement systems, immersive audio installations and network-based audio infrastructures. Built around a fully symmetrical architecture and ultra-precision electronics, it delivers digital-to-analog conversion across 32 simultaneous channels with exceptional transparency, extremely low distortion and the reliability required for the most critical environments.

Compatible with the leading professional audio standards, the M-32 DA Pro II combines MADI and AVB interfaces to integrate seamlessly into modern audio infrastructures. Its two MADI interfaces, available in coaxial and optical versions (via optional SFP module), together with its two redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports, allow distribution of up to 32 analog outputs at sample rates up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, while benefiting from extremely accurate synchronization thanks to RME’s proprietary SteadyClock FS technology.

The RME M-32 DA Pro II features a completely redesigned electronics platform delivering even higher performance than the previous generation. Its "truly balanced" analog design improves output quality while reducing total harmonic distortion and noise down to THD+N < -111 dB. The configurable output levels (+13 dBu, +19 dBu or +24 dBu) ensure optimal integration with mixing consoles, processors, broadcast systems and the most demanding studio equipment.

Thanks to its AVB architecture compliant with IEEE 802.1 and 1722.1 standards as well as MILAN™ recommendations, the converter can transmit and receive audio streams over a network with fixed latency and guaranteed bandwidth, without requiring complex network switch configuration. Up to 128 audio channels can be managed via AVB depending on the selected sample rate, making the M-32 DA Pro II perfectly suited for large-scale audio installations.

The powerful internal routing matrix allows individual routing of each channel between the analog outputs, MADI and AVB interfaces. This flexibility greatly simplifies the operation of complex audio networks, troubleshooting, signal distribution and the creation of customized configurations. Exclusive technologies such as SyncCheck®, ICC® (Intelligent Clock Control) and MADI Auto Input ensure reliable synchronization and automatic redundancy in the event of a digital source failure.

Device control is available directly from the front panel via a 2-inch color display, a multifunction encoder and numerous monitoring tools. The tricolor backlit channel indicators with Peak/RMS metering allow immediate signal identification, while the magnetic cover enables the insertion of custom labels for clearly identifying each output in permanent installations.

Designed for professional audio system integrators and operators, the M-32 DA Pro II also offers comprehensive remote control capabilities via HTTP, JSON API, IEEE 1722.1 ATDECC, USB or MIDI SysEx. Its firmware, regularly enhanced by RME through updates, provides new features over time, ensuring excellent long-term investment value and lasting compatibility with future professional audio network developments.

Featuring a fully redundant dual internal power supply, a 19-inch 1U rack format, reference-grade conversion performance and next-generation MADI/AVB connectivity, the RME M-32 DA Pro II stands as an essential solution for production studios, broadcast facilities, immersive audio installations, high-end sound reinforcement systems and any infrastructure requiring absolute precision 32-channel digital-to-analog conversion.
