AKG D112 MKII – The reference for bass drum miking
A true industry standard for more than thirty years, the AKG D112 is widely recognized as one of the best bass drum microphones ever designed. The D112 MKII continues this legacy by retaining the powerful sonic signature of the original model while integrating a flexible mount directly built into the microphone for even easier and more versatile positioning.
Equipped with a large diaphragm dynamic capsule, the D112 MKII delivers extremely accurate reproduction of low frequencies. Its very low resonance frequency captures deep and powerful bass, while a presence boost around 4 kHz ensures excellent attack definition, even in dense mixes or at high stage volumes.
Thanks to its rugged design and its ability to handle sound pressure levels above 160 dB without distortion, this microphone is perfectly suited for capturing the most powerful instruments. It also features an integrated hum-compensation coil that effectively reduces interference and unwanted noise.
