The SM86 is ideal for lead singers or singers. It is most suitable for singing during a performance, but can also be used in the studio.

The SM86 is a static microphone that reproduces on stage the quality of studio sound. Its cardioid directivity isolates the main sound source while minimizing unwanted background noises. In this the SM86 is ideal when you work on stage with personal feedback systems (ear monitors). It has a large frequency response from 15Hz to 18000Hz and a very high output level (124dB SPL). The three-point silentbloc frame minimizes handling noises and a two-layer anti-pop filter reduces wind and breathing noise.
