The Audio-Technica AE2500 is a revolutionary dual-element microphone, combining a dynamic and a condenser capsule within a single body. Designed as the ultimate kick drum microphone, it also excels on powerful instruments such as percussive brass or guitar amplifiers.
The 28 mm dynamic capsule effortlessly handles extremely high sound pressure levels and delivers precise attack. The 16 mm condenser capsule captures fine transients, subtle resonances and depth, resulting in a full, natural and highly musical sound. With both capsules being perfectly phase-aligned, the AE2500 ensures a coherent signal that would be impossible to achieve with two separate microphones.
For optimal control, the condenser element features a 80 Hz low-cut filter and a –10 dB pad. Each capsule has its own output via the included 5-pin XLR → dual 3-pin XLR breakout cable, allowing independent mixing of the dynamic and condenser signals.
