The DPA 4071-OP-C-B90 is a miniature omnidirectional lavalier microphone from the 4060/4071 CORE+ series, specially engineered for speech reproduction with its characteristic presence boost of +5 dB between 4 and 6 kHz. This natural high-frequency lift significantly enhances speech intelligibility, making the 4071 particularly suitable for professional environments where clarity is essential: broadcast, interviews, film production, theatre, conferencing and live events.
Like all miniature microphones in the 4060 series, the 4071 is based on DPA’s first miniature microphone, originally developed using technology from hearing aids and measurement microphones. This foundation guarantees high precision, stable response and excellent sonic consistency across the entire series.
Built to withstand demanding production environments, the 4071 features a 5.4 mm pre-polarized condenser capsule with a vertical diaphragm and an internal design optimized to reduce moisture and perspiration issues. Its Kevlar-reinforced cable provides outstanding resistance to pulls, twists and daily wear.
Unlike the 4060/4061 models, the 4071 includes a fixed acoustic grid that permanently integrates the presence boost—making it an ideal choice for chest-mounted or costume-mounted applications where the voice must stand out clearly without requiring heavy EQ adjustments.
Its omnidirectional pickup pattern ensures natural sound capture without precise aiming, while also minimizing handling noise, plosives and variations caused by movement. With a maximum SPL handling of 144 dB, the 4071 is suitable for both quiet dialogue and dynamic environments.
