The DPA ST2011C is a matched stereo pair of twin-diaphragm cardioid microphones, built around DPA’s acclaimed Twin Diaphragm Capsule technology. Designed to deliver a unique blend of clarity, richness and dynamic detail, this stereo set is ideal for high-precision instrument recording in both live and studio environments.
Each 2011C microphone features two closely paired miniature capsules mounted as a single unit, combining the fast transient response of small diaphragms with the lower self-noise of a larger surface. This results in a natural, accurate and highly responsive sonic signature that excels on a wide variety of instruments.
With its integrated interference tube, the 2011C provides exceptional off-axis rejection, making it highly effective on stage for controlling spill and maintaining a focused stereo image. It also handles very high SPL (up to 146 dB peak) while preserving tonal consistency.
As part of DPA’s modular pencil microphone series, both microphones in the ST2011C set can be paired tool-free with a selection of DPA preamps (MMP-A, MMP-C, MMP-E, MMP-G), enabling sound engineers to tailor the tonal character and connectivity to any workflow—from live sound to broadcast or wireless systems.
More compact than the 2011A, the 2011C version offers a slightly warmer low-end response and superior placement flexibility, making this matched pair particularly suited for stereo miking of percussion, drum overheads, brass sections, strings, guitars, ensembles and room ambience.
