The AT4049b is a professional condenser microphone that is both modular and extremely versatile, designed to meet the most demanding acoustic requirements in recording, broadcast, and professional sound reinforcement. Its two-part construction — a AT4900b-48 microphone body and an omnidirectional AT4049b-EL capsule — provides outstanding flexibility for a wide range of applications.

Its omnidirectional polar pattern ensures uniform sound pickup from all directions, making it ideal for ambience recording, instrumental ensembles, acoustic instruments, or any situation requiring an open and natural sound.

Equipped with a direct-coupled symmetrical output, the AT4049b delivers a signal that is clean, stable, and distortion-free even at high levels. Its transformerless circuitry eliminates low-frequency distortion and dramatically improves transient response, ensuring precise and dynamic reproduction of fast sound sources.
