Analogue and digital flexibility
The Neumann KM A/D system is a modular microphone system for the most demanding applications. The brand offers eight capsules with different small membranes (KK 120 ... KK185) that can be combined with an analog output stage (KM A) or digital AES 42 (KM D). All components are available in nickel or black Nextel (nx).
In addition, a complete range of accessories ensures adaptability to a wide range of applications. Compared to its predecessor, the KM 100 series, the new KM A/D system works with passive capsules, which are considerably smaller while maintaining the high acoustic design.
Optimal quality, maximum adaptability
New and advanced electronic components offer many electroacoustic and operational benefits, such as a reduction in clean noise, a wide dynamic range and a very high electromagnetic resistance.
The modular concept allows the capsule to be detached and used at a distance from the body of the microphone up to 100m, connected via a special cable. Alternatively, capsule extensions of different lengths, rotating capsule joints and innovative supports etc. can be used for flexible micro configuration. As the exit stages have the same dimensions, all accessories are compatible.
KM A and KK 183
Here, the KM A output stage without transformer works with a P48 ghost power supply. The pre-mitigation of -10 dB allows up to 152 dB SPL (depending on the capsule), without distortion.
KK 183 is a transducer of pressure equalized to diffuse, omnidirectional field, with amplification of the acutes in open field (approximately 7 dB at 10 kHz). The frequency response in the diffuse sound field is flat up to 10 kHz.
