A classic lamp to the taste of the day

The M 147 Tube brings back the sound of the famous Neumann lamp microphones of the 1950s. The M 147 is a cardioid microphone using the same wide membrane capsule as the U 47, combining it with an innovative lamp circuit for lower noise. Its output floor without transformer ensures very high performance at a more attractive price.

With digital recording and ultra-clean processing today, many professionals are now looking for lamp microphones to restore a more "analog" sound character. The colour provided by M 147 gives peps to your recordings.

A microphone with character

The M 147 is distinguished by an unparalleled presence and focus on the middle of the spectrum, ideal for male and female voices, as well as for vocal applications such as voice off and dubbing of films. It will also excel as a micro spot for solo instruments. Unlike other lamp microphones, it can be used on silent sources due to its exceptionally low clean noise of only 12 dB-A.

The M 147 gives a feeling of high volume thanks to the effect of "Tube Grit", a soft saturation, as at the time of analog recordings, so that it can capture sound from stronger sources up to 134 dB for a HDT of 5%.
