The faithful reproduction of the most natural and balanced lamp microphone of history

The WA-CX12 is a professional lamp microphone, equipped with a wide membrane and which integrates high-end components. A meticulously controlled and inspected by hand in Austin, Texas, it presents a very high quality design to match the requirements of sound professionals and to reproduce at best the mythical character of the microphone it is inspired, especially for the period 1953 to 1963.

Like the original, the tone of the WA-CX12 has a very linear curve, with a slight decrease around 2 kHz, and then gradually re-increases between 5 and 10 kHz. At the base of the entire circuit, a vintage CK12 capsule entirely made of brass offers 9 directivités (cardioid, omni, figure of 8, and 6 intermediaries), while the 12AY7 high-end integrated lamp provides the heat necessary for a faithful and natural rendering.

At the end of the circuit, a custom TAB-Funkenwerk American output transformer gives the WA-CX12 a wide, rich and open sound, making the most of the capsule and circuit. As on the whole range WARM AUDIO, the rigorous selection of high-end components guarantees the best result.
