Audio-Technica AT4047MP – Multi-pattern versatility & vintage FET warmth
The Audio-Technica AT4047MP is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed to deliver the warm tonal character inspired by early studio FET microphones. A more versatile version of the AT4047/SV, it adds three switchable polar patterns: omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-eight, offering perfect adaptability to any recording setup.
With its dual-diaphragm capsule, the AT4047MP maintains exceptionally stable polar pattern behaviour across the entire frequency range. Its warm, rich and musical coloration is the result of its transformer-coupled output and its precision-tuned capsule designed to emulate classic FET studio microphones.
Featuring very low self-noise, an extended dynamic range and the ability to handle very high sound pressure levels, it excels on vocals, string instruments, acoustic guitars, brass and vocal ensembles. Built for demanding professional environments, it is equally at home in the studio, live sound or broadcast applications.
Its nickel-plated copper capsule housing ensures optimal sensitivity and superior stability, while its symmetrical circuit design minimizes unwanted internal reflections for a more open and natural sonic character.
The AT4047MP also includes an 80 Hz high-pass filter and a 10 dB pad for extended use on louder sources. Its matte silver vintage-style finish matches the supplied AT8449SV shockmount, providing excellent mechanical noise isolation.
