Audio-Technica AT2050 – Multi-directivity capacitor microphone, versatile for studio & stage
The Audio-Technica AT2050 is the versatile microphone par excellence in the Series 20, offering three switchable directivities: Cardioid, omnidirectional and Figure eight. It represents a functional evolution of the famous AT2020, while at the same time getting closer to the performance of higher models like AT2035 or AT4040.
Thanks to its Double-diaphragm film-coated capsule, aged for optimal stability, the AT2050 guarantees a consistent and reliable response for many years. This high-end design allows it to offer a natural, accurate and balanced sound, perfectly adapted to voices, pianos, strings, percussion, guitar amps and many other studio or live applications.
Its switchable directivities considerably expand the possibilities of registration: – Cardioid to effectively isolate the source, – Omnidirectional for a natural capture of the atmosphere, – Figure eight for advanced duos, interviews or stereo techniques (Blumlein, Mid-Side).
With a low-cut filter 80 Hz and pad -10 dB, the AT2050 adapts to the most dynamic sources while limiting manipulation noise and unwanted low resonances.
Its robust construction, combined with the anti-shock suspension AT8458 included, guarantees stable installation and excellent vibration control. It also comes with a Soft protective case, ready to join any professional setup or home-studio.
