AKG C451 B – Reference small-diaphragm condenser microphone

The AKG C451 B is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone directly inspired by the iconic C451 EB equipped with the CK1 capsule, a true industry benchmark since 1969 for detailed instrumental recordings. Thanks to its faithful acoustic reproduction of the original model and updated engineering, it continues a legendary sonic heritage trusted in professional environments worldwide.

With its airy, clear and precise sound, exceptional high-SPL handling (up to 155 dB SPL) and rugged road-ready construction, the C451 B has been a touring standard since the 1980s. Its handcrafted capsule combined with a low-noise discrete preamp ensures reliable, stable and musical capture even under the most demanding conditions.

The C451 B also features a dual pre-attenuation pad (-10 / -20 dB) and two low-cut filters (75 and 150 Hz) to reduce handling noise, vibrations and proximity effect, providing optimal adaptability for both studio and live environments.

Perfect for drum overheads, percussion, acoustic guitar, strings, woodwinds and clean close-miking applications, the C451 B remains a top choice for audio engineers seeking a precise, durable and musical microphone.
