AT4050ST – The high-precision professional stereo microphone

Developed to meet the demanding requirements of professional sound engineers, the AT4050ST is a high-precision stereo condenser microphone designed for professional recording, broadcast and sound reinforcement applications. Thanks to its advanced design and its two independent capsules (cardioid and figure-of-eight), it captures natural and perfectly defined stereo images.

The microphone is originally configured in M/S (Mid-Side) mode, a recording technique highly valued for its accuracy and flexibility during mixing. An integrated switch also allows activation of an internal matrixing system to deliver a direct left-right stereo output with two selectable stereo image widths: 90° (narrow stereo) or 127° (wide stereo).

Like the famous AT4050, the AT4050ST features dual-diaphragm capsules that ensure extremely precise polar pattern definition across the entire frequency range. This design guarantees a stable, detailed stereo image faithful to the original sound source.

Its transformerless circuitry eliminates low-frequency distortion while improving transient response, enabling accurate reproduction of fast and dynamic sources such as orchestral ensembles, percussion, piano or natural ambience recordings.

The AT4050ST also includes an 80 Hz high-pass filter and a –10 dB pad, making it easier to capture high-level sound sources. It is supplied with the AT8449a shock mount, ensuring excellent mechanical isolation from vibrations and handling noise.
